Over the past few decades many of us have witnessed the birth of a counter-culture espousing the doctrine of self service and self-gratification. Christ so aptly put it when he was being led to his crucifixion as his deciples followed. Hoping his diciples would carry on the doctrine of service for others and teach that doctrine, Christ said; "Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friends".

America became a great nation based upon that single Christian philosophy. The great American society is now being dismantled by a counter philosophy developed during the past few decades. That philosophy simply says I don't give a damn about someone else, I am the important one and I want what I want when I want it! This philosophy is rippling through society like rushing waters and destroying anyone who gets in it's path.

We see the philosophy at work in our very own judicial system. Lawyers lie and deceive to defend a no-good self serving client who has blown someone away or committed some other heinous crime.  These lawyers have concocted an endless menu of deceitful and fraudulent defenses for their guilty clients as deception becomes a work of legal art. 

A young mother unhappy about something that didn't go her way runs a car off into the lake with her two small children strapped into their car seats-struggling to get free but doomed to a watery grave. In comes the lawyers to start redefining these acts of evil by an evil person as being evil acts by a sick person.

Mothers dispose of their babies in dumpsters as if they were taking out the garbage. In comes the lawyers to redefine an evil act by an evil person as being that of a person with temporary insanity and a disturbed childhood.

Young people shoot and kill each other and their elders, just for the sake of wasting someone. Even an animal has greater purpose as they generally kill for the sake of food. What do we see? A juvenile justice system with antiquated laws turning these baby rattlesnakes loose as if they were a common garden variety.

Violence in the workplace is now costing employers over $4 billion annually. A worker becomes unhappy with his boss and comes to the workplace with firearms and goes on a shooting spree killing his boss and co-workers. A black political activist-unhappy with the political climate goes on a killing rampage on a commuter train in New York, killing five and injuring nineteen people. He represents himself in court facing the survivors of that tragedy. His only defense is to ask the surviving witnesses "are you going to believe me or your own lying eyes"?

Along comes the highest court in the land to lend a hand! Roe v. Wade was a message to self-serving generations that killing babies is alright, after all it's your body. This was American government's contribution to the legal destruction of the bond of motherhood. In fact this was the very legal act that a self serving culture needed to drive a stake into the hearts of millions of unborn babies and clear away the final pang of guilt and conscience.

American government did not stop there! A welfare program was developed that encouraged millions of babies to be born for the wrong reason. The ADC program still exists today. That program pays mothers $275.00 for each child born providing there is no man in the house. Is this government sponsored prostitution? Millions of these babies have been born with no chance for self esteem and self-image and where are they finding that sense of belonging? They are finding it in the gangs-this has become their real family!

A Miami, Florida reporter who had spent several years in the crime-ridden sections of that great city called a spade a spade. Asked about her interviews with young pre-teen and teen criminals and what was the most startling thing about them she replied; "you look into their eyes and there is no one home...there is no conscience, no guilt...it is just a reflection of their own instant, self-gratification".

Drugs, alcohol, promiscuity and instant gratification have replaced love, kindness, consideration, choice and consequence in generations of our young people.

When the virtues of self-sacrifice are abandoned in a society watch out! Out comes the evil counter-culture committing every evil act imaginable upon society and we are seeing it today! No statement was ever more true than "we reap what we sew".

We have only one chance to save our society! The answer is quick and complete legal justice reform. The message must go out to the counter-culture that self-serving evil acts will be met with swift and sure punishment. That failing, a much larger problem is on the way and it is already rearing it's ugly head in our nation....it is called vigilante justice!
