AMERICA STILL THE GREATEST

NATION ON EARTH

 By Author  Sammy Sorrell

America is a choice land above all other lands. As citizens of this great nation we are blessed immeasurably. We are grounded in a Constitution that gives us freedoms and privileges that God-fearing men scripted under the guiding spirit of the Almighty-I really believe that. If our nation remains a moral compass and guiding beacon to the rest of the world, this nation will have a destiny that will reach into the eternities.

But we have a heavy responsibility. The price of freedom is not cheap. We must be ever vigilant. Man in almost every political situation can become drunk with power and tyranny can become his by-product. This nation is not exempt from tyrannical forces at work in the world today.

On tyranny, from a talk on the U.S. Constitution.  "We are deaf today to the approach of tyranny because we have lived so long under the protection of the Constitution that we take for granted the blessings of liberty. But the framers of the Constitution having had bitter experience with tyranny, wrote it with the purpose to preserve the right of local self-government-which had been the fundamental principle on which the war of the Revolution was fought. They were not dreamers but practical men of wide experience and they wrote into that document the fruition of human experience in self-government. Prospering under the privileges insured by the Constitution this country has advanced as no other in a like period in all history. We need more people today with strong convictions in support of the Constitution and with courage to stand back of their convictions. We need men with courage to refuse support to every effort aimed at undermining the Constitution. Any change in our social order which is really desirable can be effected under the Constitution or by orderly Constitutional amendment rather than by efforts to evade its provisions. We must continue to protect ourselves against the approach of tyranny in any guise."

"Beware of inroads upon the constitution by the Roman law.  Now, in the last years, we in America have gone a long distance towards the adoption of the Roman concepts and the abuses against property rights and human freedom and liberties which are possible under that system. And let me say here and now that in the whole history of the human race, from Adam until now, Tyranny has never come to live with any people with a placard on his breast bearing his name. He always comes in deep disguise sometimes proclaiming and endowment of freedom, sometimes promising help to the unfortunate and downtrodden, not by creating something for those who do not have, but by robbing those who have. But Tyranny is always a wolf in sheep's clothing , and he always ends by devouring the whole flock, saving none."

"Why I Am An American", a reprint from the Congressional record, June 11, 1940 by J. Rueben Clark, former Solicitor for the Department of State , Under-Secretary of State and Ambassador to Mexico during his service to the nation.

"I am an American because I believe in a government of laws and not of men and in a national allegiance to high principle and lofty ideal instead of to a personal sovereign.

I am an American because I believe in a government with three distinct separate branches each mutually independent of the other, with no power of delegation or appropriation of rights or powers by any one to or from any other.

I am an American because I believe that government must derive its "just powers from the consent of the governed" and that branches of government and officers shall have such powers and such only as shall be given by the people; because I believe that the assumption by branches of government or by officers of rights or powers not specifically conferred upon them is usurpation; and because impeachment or other trial lies against any officer who so usurps rights or powers not specifically conferred.

I am an American because I believe in the greatest possible measure of self-government and because I believe in a federal system of government which keeps local affairs in the hands of local governments.

I am an American because I believe in a bill of rights which places wholly beyond the reach of lawful government certain matters affecting "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," and specifically the right of freedom of conscience and worship, the right of free speech and a free press, the right to peaceably to assemble and petition government, and the right to gain and hold property with molestation except by due process of law.

I am an American because under our form of government the people of the United States have made a progress never before made by any other people in the world in an equal time during the whole period of recorded history.

I am an American because standards of life and of living of the entire American people are far beyond those enjoyed by any other people in any other part of the world, either now or at any other time, which is a living testimony and evidence of the kindly beneficence of our free institutions.

I am an American because this Nation has no scheme or plan of conquest, because it has a respect for the rights of other peoples and of other nations, because it promotes justice and honor in the relationships of nations, because it loves the ways of peace as against war, as shown by the repeated peaceful adjustment of its own international disputes, because it has conquered the land greed which so afflicts the nations of the world, as demonstrated in Cuba and the Philippines.

I am an American because my country abolished slavery after it had become deep-rooted and because men still are free to work, and are secure in the enjoyment of the products of their labor. I am an American because I firmly and earnestly believe that the Constitution is an inspired document designed by our Maker to set up a government which would make sure and secure the rights set forth in the Bill of Rights, and particularly the right of freedom of conscience and worship.

I am an American because I believe that the destiny of America is to be the abiding place of liberty and free institutions and that its own practice and enjoyment of these blessings shall be to the world a beacon light which shall radiate its influence by peaceful means to the uttermost parts of the world to the uplifting of all humanity."

TIME FOR THE ACLU TO BUTT OUT
 By Author  Sammy Sorrell

It is a statistical fact that Americans have been victimized by a 350% increase in crime (home grown terrorism) during the past 40-years-with little relief in sight. Much of that increase can be directly tracked to an increase in immorality in our nation. Immorality is not socially redeeming and in most cases it results in some type of crime or extreme behavior with great cost to society. Historically immorality has destroyed great nations. Rome is just one example. When we cut our way through all the media assigned labels in society today such as “liberal and conservative”, “Christian and atheist”, “left and right”, “good and evil”, “married and live-in”, “same-sex partners” we find a nation perhaps even the world in a culture war. America today is in fact in a political-culture war with the prize being immorality or morality. The immoral culture would create a utopia of peace without God and the moral culture would recognize God in all mortal affairs. That culture war is being vigorously waged in our homes, our communities, our towns, our states, our courts and our government with obvious social destruction.

Under the guise of the great self-anointed guardian of American civil liberties, the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) has taken the side of immorality in the culture war. Americans are not stupid! A typical example was the loud and public applaud when the state of Massachusetts legislature voted down an amendment that would have defined marriage as between one man and one woman. Regarding that vote, Norma Shapiro, legislative director of the ACLU of Massachusetts said; “The peoples’ representatives spoke today, the process worked and the people have been heard as more and more constituents expressed support for equal treatment of families.” Those of us who believe that God is our creator also believe that it was HE that gave the blueprint for a “family” as being between a man and a woman. Note the subtle proselyting in the culture war by the ACLU spokeswoman of what constitutes “families.”

The family is the laboratory of society. What comes out of that laboratory is exactly what you can expect in society. Today we have a 52% divorce rate and a growing percentage of live-ins. Many of those numbers evolve from a self-serving and selfish culture that desires instant pleasure. Track the results of these scenarios and we find millions of kids are the end victims-with far to many of these misplaced kids gravitating to gangs. Based upon historical precedent, the ACLU would champion the individual civil liberties involved in these situations at the expense and cost of obvious immorality.

In a day when young people discard newborn babies in dumpsters, I find it preposterous that this great self-anointed group of lawyers would question the teaching of moral principles by a Christian basketball coach at the University of New Mexico-all under the guise of separation of church and state that is in fact a myth in the 1st Amendment of the U.S. constitution. When a coach would teach a young person to be as good a human being as well as a good athlete, I will take the coach’s side in the culture war every time as I believe most Americans would.

Rather than meddling in a Christian coach’s moral teachings to athletes at the University of New Mexico-this group’s time could be much better spent fighting against the 159,000,000 million crimes committed against good Americans in the 13-year period ending in 2002.

America is a great nation because it was established under God and through his inspiration our founding fathers drafted the greatest constitution and amendments in all of world history. That document is unequaled in liberties and freedoms. In all of man’s mortal weaknesses and flaws there is in fact a system in place as decreed in the constitution to protect our liberties and freedoms.

Many of those early Americans and drafters of the constitution acknowledged God in their important work as the source of these liberties and freedoms and so expressed it in the Declaration Of Independence in 1776.

America will remain a great nation as long as it recognizes God as the giver of all of our liberties and freedoms and the responsibilities that go with those liberties. When any group comes along under the guise of protecting our God given rights, liberties and freedoms and wants to remove God from the picture beware of that group. Historically the ACLU would remove God from our teachings, from our Government, from our pledge of allegiance, from many of our social interactions with each other and other vital areas of our society according to their own invented perception. Time for the ACLU to butt out!

WHY AMERICA IS ON THE ROAD TO

 VIGILANTE JUSTICE AND ANARCHY

By Author Sammy Sorrell

If legal justice reform continues to be the number one hang-up of government in America, forget about winning the war on crime until the people change the government. If our political leaders continue to hold out peace offerings of social programs and experiments to criminals as a reward for evil, forget about winning the war on crime. If swift and sure punishment is not the very foundation of our criminal justice system, the crime war will continue to expand. If we continue to restrict our crime war activities to taking prisoners, we are not talking about winning the war on crime—or any war! No war can ever be won by simply taking prisoners and coddling them. The cost would ultimately be prohibitive and the enemy will overrun us. The enemy will also see we do not have the strong resolve to win the war and they can plan their strategy accordingly. Any war includes inflicting fatalities on the enemy and taking prisoners is simply a collateral issue of the war.

The war on crime is no different from any other war. There are two sides: the bad guys and the good guys. We measure the threat, identify the enemy, target the enemy resources, declare war and plan our strategy to win that war and go all out to win it as swiftly as possible. Crime statistics are the only documentation we need to understand that the huge threat to our citizens is very real. The enemy is not difficult to identify. The enemy in this war is those who disregard the law and inflict icreasing fatalities and casualties upon the American people and their property. It is they who cause fear on our streets and in our neighborhoods. It is they who have become a giant business opportunity for lawyers pleading non-responsibility for their acts.
The American people are fed up with social programs to discourage criminals from killing, raping, assaulting and committing other heinous crimes against our society. Americans are saying to government, “Clean up your act and start to govern this nation and put people and law-abiding citizens before politics and special-interest social programs.” With crime as a number one concern in America, the message of voters should be to declare war on crime and win that war and take back our nation from the criminals and the criminal establishment.

Pulling out all the stops and declaring all-out war on crime will be the true test of putting people before politics and showing that a political party can govern this nation in their own right. Why is this the true test? The majority of Americans are well aware that our government has evolved into a lawyer-dominated business and political culture. Lawyers dominate the federal government; they totally dominant the judicial system; lawyers dominate state legislatures; lawyers dominate the prosecutorial branches of government; lawyers dominate the administrative branches of government; lawyers dominate the Congress of the United States and 24 of the 44 American presidents—as of this writing—have been lawyers. Dracula is in charge of the blood bank. To win the war on crime, we must have drastic legal justice reform. Legal justice reform means putting people before politics: changing the revolving-door justice system; cutting into the revenue of lawyers; drastically changing our laws and totally reforming our criminal justice system.

The American voters have put the question on the table. Politicians: is it really possible to put people first and your own political welfare second? Both Democrats and Republicans have had their turn at bat on the important issue of crime in America and both have repeatedly struck out. Which party will finally step up to bat and knock a home run for the American people? American Trend Publishing has made a great 425-page book release; “Homegrown Terrorism, The Undeclared War Against Crime In America.” The book tells the entire story of crime in America and a broken judicial system that is taking us down the road to vigilante justice and anarchy.  To get the book free Click Here

America has become a giant killing field leading all nations in violent crime. The greatest threat to America is not offshore terrorism it is homegrown terrorism and that is destroying our nation from within.

GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

IS THE ULTIMATE KEY TO HAPPINESS

By Author Sammy Sorrell

Many people believe that happiness is a destination and if you believe that I will offer you my ocean-front property in Arizona.  No a destination (goals excepted) will never bring us happiness in this life.  Happiness is the road we travel and the experiences we have along the way, the knowledge we learn as we travel, the answers we find, the relationships we make and yes even the adversities we encounter and overcome.  Anything less is chasing the rainbow. The road we are traveling is an eternal road.  The road did not start on this planet, it does not end on this planet.  Our Creator designed the road for us and it was He that sent us on our travels.  Billions of people come to this earth and get caught up in the here and now and their dreams of happiness turn into a lifetime of disappointment. (See Secret To Life Click here)

There is another dream that many of us have and that is called "Eternal Perspective."  Eternal perspective answers the most important questions we can ask; (1) Where did I come from? (2) What am I doing here? and (3) Where am I going?  My happiness lies in my eternal perspective and I would not trade that for all the riches of this world.  It is that eternal perspective that offers comfort at the loss of a loved one, when we suffer an adversity of any description or magnitude.

Now the question is who is the author of that eternal perspective?  None other than the Lord and Savior of the entire world-Jesus Christ, the son of God.  He did more than create this earth.  He came to this earth to teach us the gospel of salvation and exaltation and the higher laws that would bring us happiness.  He made it possible for us to continue to travel that eternal road when he gave up his own mortal life and atoned for the sins of the world.  That is the portal through which we must all pass to continue to travel that eternal road back to the presence of our Father in heaven waiting for us to finish this part of our journey.

It is this knowledge and this knowledge alone that can bring us true happiness under all conditions in mortality.  It is Jesus Christ that holds the key to our happiness in this life and in the life to come.

  DANGEROUS TREND EVOLVING UNDER

       GUISE OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH

By Author Sammy Sorrell

Freedom of speech is a foundation principle of a free nation.  Imposition of political and personal will has no place in the freedom of speech concept or intent as we are seeing today.  Imposition of political and personal will is the very doctrine which free nations resist and thank God for that.  As a legal matter, your freedom of speech right gives you the right to disagree with me and I will defend that right to the death. But freedom of speech does not give you the right to take away any of my freedoms or impede my path of progress.  It does not give you the right to break any civil or criminal law or do any other thing to force or impose your will upon me or anyone else who disagrees with you.  It does not give you the right to block any street, which I want to travel on.  It does not give you the right to lie down in the middle of any public road, which I travel on.  It does not give you the right to block or impede my entrance into any building, which I desire to enter.  It does not give you the right to prevent me from doing any other legal or lawful thing, which I desire to do.

For the past few decades we have seen a very dangerous trend by political special interest groups, dissenting or opposing a whole menu of subjects.  They set about spinning their web of ulterior political motive under the guise of freedom of speech.   This agenda has included a whole plethora of political causes that is intended to shock the moral, spiritual and logical conscience of our nation.  These causes range from one end of the spectrum to the other extreme end.   Some of the more common causes have included burning of the American flag, invading the Internet with a blitz of child pornography, sitting in the redwood trees in California at the expense of contemporary progress, preservation of the silvery minnow at the expense of vital water rights for humanity, preservation of the spotted owl at the expense of the lumber industry and preservation of the gray wolf at the expense of ranchers and farmers livestock.  This so-called freedom of expression also includes the devastation and terror in this nation caused by those who drink (alcohol) and drive (DWI) killing and maiming innocent people.  It includes over 50,000 deaths annually of non-smoking Americans who die from second-hand smoke.  And the list goes on!

Now we are watching and even more dangerous trend being carried over into the “war dissenters” movement. Many of these people are out there spinning their political web under the guise of freedom of speech.   This obviously is a well-organized worldwide movement with leaders who hate the USA and know how to incite innocent people to join their movement under the guise of freedom of speech-to carry out their ulterior political motives.  Unfortunately these people could be engaging in an activity akin to sedition and treason. The theme to cover that political agenda is a claim of “support for the troops” but not support for the “commander and chief” of the troops.  This has a very hollow political ring.  In fact one “war dissenting” female told a reporter her concern goes back to the last “illegal presidential election.”  So this appears not to be a war protest but a ballot box political agenda.   A great number of others interviewed exclaim “Saddam Hussein” is not a threat to this nation and it has not been proven he has weapons of mass destruction.  Another statement that has a hollow ring!  The documented record shows that Iraqi has used chemical warfare upon it’s own people.  That same record shows there is a supply of Anthrax still unaccounted for after the last Gulf war, which could wipe out millions of people-yes even Americans.

One madman who hates Americans brought death and harm to over 3000 of our citizens on 9/11.  Do we want to risk another 9/11, only a thousand times worse by another madman?

I am proud to be an American.  I love our freedoms and stand ready to exercise responsibility in the use of those freedoms along with the majority of Americans.  I am honored to be included among those that support our great president (Bush) who is obviously willing to risk his entire political career to protect the American people and our homeland.  Imagine with me if this president did not exercise the courage to meet this threat of another murderous tyrant and our nation was attacked again!  Many of these same “war dissenters” would be back out on the street (with their political agenda) decrying the failure of this president to meet the threat before it hit us!   Freedom of speech yes!  Imposition of political will no!

THE MISSING LINK

CHOICE AND  CONSEQUENCE

By Author Sammy Sorrell

I believe when we consider the facts surrounding choice and consequence we will see that it is the vital-absolutely required missing link not only in justice in America but in the entire society is C & C.  There is nothing anymore basic in the human endeavor and experience than choice and consequence.  It is one of the most important laws that parents can teach their children.  It is the most important law when we make moral choices.  It is the most important law when we make choices that are subject to the laws of the land.  For the purpose of definition we are not talking about the many everyday well-intended choices we all have to make in our lives that become almost robotic like. Sometime those choices result in unintended accidents and that causes us to learn the need for more care in making choices-but that is a lifetime process.  Lets focus upon the important conscious choices good or bad that we make that can have long-term effect upon our own lives and the lives of others.  The higher moral laws govern most of these kinds of choices.  And our Creator has clearly marked a roadmap for us to follow.

My father made a bad choice and became an alcoholic.  The bad choice he made was when he took that first drink of alcohol-he was headed toward the law of cause and effect.  And the consequence was that his life was cut short at a fairly young age.  In effect he is like many people who make the bad choice of consuming alcohol the consequence is they don’t just die they kill themselves and sometime they kill others when they drive.   And there are many other important moral choices we have to make and many of them when we are young.  So when we make important moral choices the consequence will be good or bad.  Sometime when we make a good moral choice, we may suffer a little adversity before the end result is realized but if we have studied out the choice and made that choice with good intent-then let the consequence follows.  Adversity in our lives is as necessary as air and water-so don’t let some adversity between our making a right choice and the end consequence that follows cause us to believe we made the wrong choice.  I am very fond of a religious hymn that you may have in your own church and one of the verses goes like this; Do what is right, the day dawn is breaking, hailing a future of freedom and right.  Angels above us are silent notes taking of every action do what is right.  Do what is right let the consequences follow.  Battle for freedom in spirit and might and with stout hearts look ye forth till tomorrow.  God will protect you then do what is right.  Today in our society the missing link is the all-important law of choice and consequence.

            DWI THE MOST DANGEROUS

 HOMEGROWN TERRORIST IN AMERICA

By Author Sammy Sorrell

We hear a lot of rhetoric about overcoming the DWI problem and much of that rhetoric is honestly intended.  To win the DWI war we need only to focus upon two issues; (1) Choice and consequence and (2) Swift and sure punishment. Both issues are missing in action as we see DWI’s back out on the street after as many as twenty driving offenses and two chief judges in New Mexico get caught in the legal net.

Now lets look at the cause that leads up to the problem. The use of alcohol in America is a huge paradox.  On the one hand judges, lawyers, lawmakers, celebrities, sports figures, politicians, professionals and millions of John and Jane Does get stoned driving while impaired and few get caught in the legal web.   The alcohol industry is a powerful political lobby at state and federal levels of the government.  Manufacturing, distribution, marketing and sale of alcohol are no small economic factors in the free-enterprise system.

On the other hand, alcohol may well be the source of more misery, cost, loss, accidents and death, broken families, crime and immorality than any other single product in our society.   While one segment of the nation relaxes with a Martini or their favorite alcoholic drink, another segment of society is getting drunk, spending the family paycheck, committing crimes of domestic violence, child abuse, murder, rape and other immoral acts, filling up the jails, crowding the courtroom calendars, keeping law-enforcement officials busy, driving while intoxicated, killing, maiming and terrorizing millions of unsuspecting Americans.  This factual picture is indeed a paradox.

While Americans cry out to lawmakers and politicians to stop the DWI carnage, social engineers point to alcohol as a disease and that is pure hogwash!  Alcohol is a serious choice and consequence issue. And the use of alcohol is a bad choice!  New Mexico has consistently led the nation in DWI and now the State  continues to add another dimension to the DWI problem.   Not one but two chief judges of district courts in the state (Brennan and Fitch) have been caught in the legal net within the recent past.  Some say but that is only two out of a much greater number of judges.  One is too many!  To whom much is given-much is expected.  Factual statistics are the best measure we can rely upon.  There are many who simply have not been caught.  Then when they are caught, we see the dominant lawyer culture on and off the bench rush to their defense.   These two judges both began with thirty days of voluntary removal while the public uproar subsided. Ultimate punishment is little if any! It finally takes a public outcry to cause a resignation.  Dracula is in charge of the Blood Bank

The last thing you can expect from an alcohol abuser is recognition and admission of truth and facts.  It is this basis upon which all justice must depend.  Undoubtedly some of those who came before Judge Fitch and Judge Brennan who now have a prison address must question justice in the American judicial system.

Finally to the question of homegrown terrorism. Alcohol related accidents in the USA have killed more Americans than all our wars combined.  71 people are killed each day in the USA from alcohol related accidents. 708,000 people are injured annually in the USA from alcohol related accidents.  51% of crime is alcohol related.  Estimates are that only 200 of every 2000 alcohol impaired drivers are arrested and very few receive a stiff penalty.   DWI’s are the most dangerous and feared homegrown terrorists in America.  What is the difference between a suicide car bomber and a DWI coming down the road?  Death is generally the end result. These facts leave us without argument.  High public office requires high moral standards.  Bad behavior and conduct are the byproducts of immoral standards.  Immorality is simply the embryo stage of crime.  With a 350% increase in crime during the past 40-years and DWI’s leading the way through the revolving door justice system, who can argue that the number one priority in America is the need for legal justice reform.

CULTURE WAR IN AMERICA

THE LAST WAR?

By Author Sammy Sorrell

The United States of America was founded upon a fairly simple set of principles that in large part evolved from a Puritan heritage with a solid recognition of the importance of the family unit.  For several decades it has been the family unit that dictated our cultural beliefs and traditional values.  Perhaps the biggest casualty in the culture war has been the family unit that is herein described as the main battlefront.

With the growth of the nation during the past several decades, there have developed a number of influences that moved the people further away from cultural beliefs and traditional values.  Those influences became such a focused part of our society at some point the nation literally evolved into a culture war with several battlefronts.

In the 21st century these influences each bidding for a dominant place in society have become so active the culture war is now at the forefront of the nation.   Many Americans may not identify with a culture war while at the same time they know there is an enormous pressure by these various influences to win over the hearts and minds of the people.  There are many writings that identify the culture war and other writings that merely allude to a culture war.  How do we define a culture war?  The culture war is very simply opposing sides that reflect a very sharp breach in common beliefs about private and public morality and exactly what standards should govern individual, social and public behavior.

It is the intention of this writer to identify these so-called influences as the established battlefronts in a culture war that has escalated into an unbelievable vitriolic and mental battle royal that effect the lives of all Americans-present and future.

Without question the two original battlefronts in the culture war and today remain the hot spots are the religious and secular battlefronts.  These battlefronts have been defined and identified in various ways.  Some have defined the two fronts as;  (1) Religious:  Living by a set of fixed rules from God-being more important than self-expression and (2) Secular: The belief that self-expression and personal freedom based upon circumstances in a changing modern life is more important than traditional values and the standard should be situation ethics.  An example of this secular philosophy came in a recent court decision in the state of Oregon that states that freedom of self expression is lawful for a couple to have sex in a bar or club on stage in front of the clientele.  Coincidentally, it is the state of Oregon who has passed the only legal assisted suicide law in the nation. The religious battlefront holds to the belief that God is indeed our creator and should be the strongest influence in every area of our lives.  The secular (self-expression) battlefront holds to the belief that a utopia of peace can be created without God.  These two basic battlefronts permeate throughout the entire American society.  Weapons used in these two battlefronts range all the way from the basic issue of intelligent design and the Darwinian theory of evolution to a plethora of issues that clearly attempt to define moral and immoral behavior.   The “religious” battlefront believe that man in and of himself has a faulty moral compass and should rely upon the moral compass furnished by our creator-namely the Ten Commandments and teachings of the Savior.  The “secular” battlefront would rely upon the intellect and reasoning of man without a religious belief being a part of that influence.  The dividing line between these two battlefronts continues to become more clearly identified as the culture war heats up.  The prize of course is winning over the hearts and minds of the people to one side or the other.  Many religionists have boldly declared the war is between “good and evil”.  Without question the secular battlefront has largely built their strategy around the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the guarantees of freedom of speech and separation of church and state.  The self-appointed national guardian of freedom of expression is the ACLU.  Any suggestion that resembles a God-like practice in the public arena will be immediately contested by the ACLU with their own interpretation of a constitutional violation-even if the facts have to be redefined.  Also without question the religious battlefront has built their strategy around the biblical volumes and God’s laws.  The spin-off of these two battlefronts is morality and immorality and all things related.  The ripple effect in these spin-off battlefronts attempt to capture the people’s attention daily.  Periodically the Icons in the freedom of speech battlefront get high exposure, the reverend Jerry Falwell, the reverend Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Don Imus, Howard Stearn to mention a few. Almost always the focus results in some degree of hypocrisy.  Then there is a culture war occurring both between and within the various religious denominations and churches.  Many of these breaches are occurring because of the spin-off and ripple effect of the questions of morality and immorality.

While the religious and secular battlefronts are undoubtedly the hot spots in the culture war, there are clearly other battlefronts bidding for the hearts and minds of the American people.   The American legal justice system is a huge battlefront.  Any free republic is a reflection of its laws and how those laws are administered.  An unbelievable 159,000,000 million crimes (many heinous) committed against Americans during the thirteen-year period ending 2002 has caused this battlefront to heat up with the justice system status quo and most Americans led by legal justice reform advocates as the chief rivals in this battlefront.  The spillover from this battlefront reaches into the questions of morality and immorality by activist judges who short-circuit the law against legislating morality.   Because of the questions of morality and immorality, the U.S. supreme court appointments have become so politicized it has become a shameful public spectacle resembling a political pony and dog show.   An analysis of U.S. Supreme court decisions for the past four decades leads many to believe that some of these decisions have been political decisions and not based in the U.S. Constitution.  Perhaps a recent glaring example of how the judicial system factors into crime and immorality is the federal activist judge who ruled that illegal immigrants with criminal records being held in state courts are protected by the law of privacy and their names do not have to be released.   How utterly ridiculous this ruling is in the face of the law that any American criminal being held has a totally open file to the public from the court of jurisdiction.  In other words no privacy protection for American citizen criminals and total privacy for illegal immigrants with a criminal record.

Looming high on the list of battlefronts in the culture war is the politics of our government.  This battlefront is vicious and has become dangerous and destructive to the welfare of the American people.  It has become so vicious that the business of the nation is often stymied with Americans being put at great risk on many vital issues.  Illegal immigration has become a political football and is high on the list of political issues that has placed the entire nation at risk.  Snarled also in political bureaucracy is the energy crisis now translating into a potential economic problem at the gas pumps of the nation and the heating needs in most American homes.  The first political warning of this coming energy crisis came from the OPEC nations embargo of the western nations in 1975.  The fallout from this energy problem showed a glaring need for more oil refineries in the United States.  That issue became politicized and not a single oil refinery has been built since 1975.

Undoubtedly the evolution of professional politicians has provoked a near shooting war between the two major political parties that now govern the nation by proxy.  As we look back upon the beginning of this nation politicians came from the ranks of patriotic citizens who were willing to drop the plow and do their civic duty for a couple of years.  They were perfectly satisfied in returning to their homes-pick up the plow and get on with their personal lives.  Professional politicians have become some of the most powerful figures in American society.  With power comes corruption with an unbelievable level of that corruption occurring behind closed doors.  The evolution of the political parties have now lulled the majority of Americans into a deep rut repeatedly sending these politicians back to Washington believing their own area self interests will be greatly enhanced.  That enhancement generally appears.  As the political war front heats up we now see “hate groups” organized to specifically target an incumbent president with venomous allegations comparing the president to rogue historical figures such as Adolph Hitler.  Then when this so-called “Hitlerite” wins a clear majority for re-election by the American people and the opposing party immediately creates a cloud of suspicion by contesting the vote in various states declaring corruption in the election procedures and the vote total.  The opposing sides in the battlefront of politics has been simplified by the public media to mean “liberal” or “conservative.”  Most of the public media has joined the liberal movement.  The American people now have to interpret the news as the liberal media attempts to “make” the news rather than “report” the news.

Great nations have been destroyed from within.  Will history teach us or will the culture war be the last war that will destroy our nation from within?

EXTREMISM MOVING SOCIETY

 TOWARD DESTRUCTION

It does not take a rocket scientist or any other expert to see what has happened in our society today.  We have moved from moderation to liberalism and extremism in our views, actions and behavior.  Extremism has fast become the direction for many individuals and groups in society today.  This behavior is pushing human relationships to the brink.  Extremism espouses excessive views and behavior taken to the outermost limit or degree.  By its very nature extremism has a culmination or an end and that end is irrational logic, immorality, violence, terrorism and crime all of which can destroy a civilization.

Commercialize sex in the pornographic extreme as we see in our society today and the end degree is rape, child abuse, sex slavery, kidnapping, sex torture and brutal murder.  Carry politics to the extreme and it can become corrupt with immorality, power and greed.  Political campaigns today have reached the highest degree of intensity with unwarranted attacks of dishonesty and deceit.  In a recent political campaign, one extreme depiction in Arizona puts the face of the opponent in a video presentation of crosshairs-scoped out for the kill.  Our judicial system borders on the extreme as the definition of justice has become all about winning by prosecutorial or defense lawyers with political corruption replacing the merits of justice.  Carry the entertainment industry to the extreme and morality will become a Godless culture with yesterday’s immorality becoming today’s morality.  Carry the alcohol and drug culture to the extreme and you have more violence, injury and murder than in all our wars combined.  Move the religious community to the extreme and the ultimate becomes a group that begins protesting at the funerals of our military dead and soon at other funerals of innocent victims with the theme that the deaths resulted because God hates certain segments of society.  Finally comes the extremism in personal relationships where the family (the laboratory of society) has been totally victimized.  Domestic violence, child abuse and other types of abuse are rampant in families.  Human relationships fall apart as the divorce rate reaches an all-time high over 50% in the USA.  Kids of those split family relationships often migrate to the gangs of extremism seeking their own self-image.  Sum it all up and you have 159,000,000 million crimes committed against Americans during the 13-year period ending 2002 (U.S. Justice Dept.).  We end up with the great American nation becoming the most violent of all the nations and leading most nations of the earth in crime statistics.

The United States is not alone in the world of extremism.  In the mid-east that extremism has led to the war on terrorism.  A war that has been declared and is waged by extremists under the name of a religion who have fashioned their own Jihad to kill all who do not embrace their extreme views, behavior and actions.

So what are the forces driving extremism?  There are several driving forces just to mention a few.  First, the underlying force is the attempted creation of a utopia of peace without God.  The great roadmap of the Ten Commandments has been abandoned in favor of secular views and actions.  The immorality engulfing our own nation and even the world is a fundamental and basic problem- it is a direct result of failure to follow the Ten Commandments. There is no middle ground here either we move toward good or we move toward evil. Secondly, the right of freedom of speech has lost all sense of balance and logic with responsibility being the main casualty.  Thirdly, the public media spotlight shines brightly upon all of this extremism where conflict, immorality, celebrity nonsense, politics and inhumane acts of violence can drive the ratings and increase exposure.  Fourthly and finally all human relationships have spiritual roots.  When those spiritual roots are cut we turn into a robotic society.   Extremism then becomes the driving force moving society ever closer toward the brink of immorality, crime, lawlessness, vigilante justice, anarchy and ultimate destruction as we disregard history in the traditional sense.
