Placentia, CA.,:1/10/03:  Janet Chen is accused of leaving her children ages 4 and 7 at home alone for three weeks while she made a rendezvous in North Carolina with a man she met on the Internet.  The children survived on frozen food left in the refrigerator.  The mother told the children if any strangers came to the door, they should hide.  A neighbor heard crying in the apartment and alerted police.  Commentary; When emotion takes over, logic quits.
